1956 Supro Comet Lap Steel in Cleveland for $300

I just broke down and bought a mid 1950's Supro Comet Lapsteel just like this but mine does not have the original tuners which this one does and mine doesn't have the Bridge Cover either (drat!) which this one does - and this even has the original cloth cord and case - so I would say this is a sweet deal. And Cleveland Rocks!

He is interested - has 25 yrs exp as a Supervisor and last 3 years as aManager - has sup of 90 in past and has 42 FTE's right now (Unionized YES) - knows his stuff and they have JCAHO at the hospital right now. 1960's Black Jack Semi-Hollow (Univox?) in Albany NY for $200

I've never seen this brand of guitar before - it has some of the Univox qualities but also resembles the Japnese made nationals from thelate 60's - lots of toggle switches on this Cross between and ES-335 and a Gretsch 5120.

similar to some Gretsch models!!!
one of the knobs needs to be looked at but everything besides that is great

Magnatone M10 in Albany NY - needs some work - $300

The seller says this amp need "a 3-prong cord and an overhaul" - I am not sure what that means exactly - but even though it only has an 8 inch speaker the M-10 is a nice amp - and it does have a speaker out to drive larger cabinets. A note the the unexperienced - these Maggie suitcase amps are a PAIN IN THE A** to work on - they layout inside is very tough and it drives techs a little crazy. Just keep that in mind if you're thinking - Oh cool... a cheap maggie. Just a word of caution.

The schematic inside the amp reads 1963. It comes in at around 20 watts of power, about the same as a Deluxe Reverb. This amp has a terrific tweed tone. It has reverb and vibrato. It has an 8" and a 3" speaker. It is a tube amp. It has a built in speaker jack so you can hook it up to bigger speakers. It needs a grounded 3 prong cord installed and an overhaul. For $300 it's a great investment. Check out the Magnatone/Valco forum at yahoo groups for more info. One of the guys there said " any professional musician worth his pro tools should have one of these amps". I'm selling it because I've built one small amp and need the cash to build a bigger one. I'd rather do that than work on vintage gear.

Titano (Magnatone) 413 Tube amp in AustinTX for $400

Hard to believe that $400 for a Maggie is now considered a good deal but - it is. These Titano's are just rebaged Magnatones - like the seller says: everything on it is the same as a Maggie 213. Not a stereo amkp but you do get the Real Pitch shifting Vibrato - and since it isa dual 6V amp it will growl nicely - similar to a Fender Tweed Deluxe - and just as well made. Cosmetically, this amp is not a beauty but I bet she sounds great.

Titano 314 essentially a Magnatone 213 with same great tone AND true pitch shift vibrato. 2x 6v6, 12" Oxford speaker. All original including wooden foot switch (funky but functional). Lived much of its life in a recording studio....'cause its a TONE machine. I've just got too many amps. [Note: I removed the back panel for the "gut shot" but its still there]

1970s Epiphone Crestwood ET-275 vintage project electric guitar
This vintage Epiphone Crestwood ET-275 was built in Japan in the 1970's and is currently a little rough, but would make a great project guitar.

This has belonged to a friend of mine since the mid 90's, but he never really completed his project and has decided to let it go.

The neck is straight with the original nut and the frets show normal to little wear for it's age on the rosewood fretboard, but is still a quite playable neck with the great original finish on the maple neck and the entire neck. The original tuners are included, but are currently off of the guitar. The headstock needs some work. There are some chips on the front around the tuner holes and there are multiple sets of screw holes on the back where it looks like different sets of tuners once were, and there is some wood fill puddy that was applied at some point.

The body at some point was painted black, with some runs, and should probably be sanded and re-painted and sealed to look it's best, or you could just leave it as is for more of a relic look since it already has some rubs and scratches on the sides and back. The strap buttons, bridge tremolo (no bar), neck plate and it's screws are all original. The pick guard is a cheap replacement cut out, that was routed for only a Telecaster style single coil in the bridge, but it's an exact cut out that could be used for a new plastic one to be made.

Here are full size photos to see more clearly:

Epiphone Crestwood photos on Flickr

This is being offered exactly as seen in the photos and will come with a gig bag.

Asking $130 cash, but will consider all serious cash offers and possible trades for other music gear.

If this ad is still posted, then this is still available.

This is located in east Fort Worth.

Thanks.

1963 National Val-verb 1260 Amp in Canada for $500

This amp is basically the same layout and circuit as the Supro 1624T that everyone is paying $2K for these days - and the National Models were Valco's "top of the line." Dual 6973 power tubes and reverb and two 10 inch Jensen's - this 15 watt amp is also pretty much the same as a Gretsch Playboy. Just not as well known.

This thing ROCKS! It's a made in Japan Columbia CGA-131. If you search the internet, you probably won't find much information. Awhile back, I did find something. I recall the tubes were like no other amp out there. The power tubes are VERY much like EL84s (I also remember seeing them listed on online tube stores,, so there's no shortage). And there's a 12ax7A preamp tube & a 6AQ8 preamp tube & some mystery rectifier tube (6x4?). All made by Toshiba. Actually, some of the amp builders on AX84.com built similar amps & there was some boutique amp builder that had a very similar tube amp (I think it was Dr. Z). The separate bass & treble knobs have a lot of sway & can vary the tone to spanky bright chicken-pickin' tones to creamy rich bass. There's also spring reverb with it's own depth & foot switch jack. Same with the tremolo & vibrato, which has depth & speed. There's 3 inputs (one seems more aggressive then the other). And all this is protected with a fuse. There's a 7" alnico speaker, but this medium suitcase sized enclosure can probably hold a 12" if you want to put one in. Actually, that 7" sounds as BIG as the 12" in my other ad for a tube amp (Victor Filmosound). What else? This amp when fully cranked is loud enough to keep up with a light hitting drummer, but quiet enough to not annoy the neighbors. It's about the same wattage as dual el84 amps. I would describe this amp as very vintage VOX-ish (AC-15). It does have paper wound output/power transformers & has tons of vintage MOJO. I would love to keep this, as nobody else has one, but unfortunately, i desperately need money for an emergency. So, if there ever was a "my loss, is your gain" sale, it's this one : (

This is a stunning guitar - everyone who sees it does a double take and asks to check it out. If you are into the whole Jack White / Dan Auerbach retro vintage vibe you will love it. There is an identical guitar with more specific details described at the VIntage Silvertones sight below:

http://www.vintagesilvertones.com/forsale_gtr-kay_speeddemon.html

It is a K573 badged as a Truetone - I was told it was a 1963 when I bought it and the old Western Auto Catalogs you can find online bear that out. It is in terrific shape with some minor chips and crazing but nothing that takes away from the oveall beauty of the guitar. Everything is original but I did send two of the pickups out to Lindy Fralin to be rewound and wax dipped at a cost of $155 - they did a great job - the pickups sound awesome - there is just one catch...

When I put the pickups back in the guitar I was a little concerned about one of the solder joints... it was holding but looked a little weak - so an hour later after I had reinstalled the pickups and all the pots and wiring one of the pickups started to cut in and out - and then stayed out. It is the bridge pickup and the other two still work fine but at some point someone needs to open it up and resolder that wire to the third volume pot. I WILL GUARANTEE THAT ALL 3 PICKUPS WORK GREAT - it is just the solder joint, I am absolutely sure. It takes patience to remove the pickups and wiring to resolder the joint and I am just not in the mood - so I am reducing the price by $50 from what most people would agree this guitar is worth. Please don't give me a hard time or lecture me about this aspect of the guitar - you can easily fix it in an hour or two with a soldering iron - I just don't have the time to spare right now.

Note: I put a set of brand new DR .12 - .52 gauge strings on the guitar so it sounds great for SURF and COUNTRY - the 12's are very heavy and don't bend easily but they have awesome tone - even for Jazz as well. If you want to play standard rock or Blues you will probably want to restring it with lighter gauge strings - that will be up to you.

This is a very cool and collectible guitar - and the price is more than fair. I have a well padded coffin hard case that fits it like a glove - we can negotiate for the case if you really want it.

Too many amps and one has to go! It's a Fender Deville 2x12 tube combo in good to very good condition. It comes with a Fender cover, original footswitch, and even has heavy duty casters installed (it's pretty heavy!). Everything works as it should, and the tubes have plenty of life left in them. This is a USA made amp, and the quality is typical of Fender before they started having their products made in China and Mexico. I've never had any problems with this amp. It has been used sparingly, as I like to bring the smallest amp I can to a gig (usually a Blues Jr.). I did use this amp on a few recording sessions last month, and it sounds beautiful. $425 cash

Power: 15 watts class A/B
Inputs: (2) 1/4" input jacks - Guitar and Accordion
Controls: Volume, Treble, Bass, Dimension (Reverb)
Tubes: (2) 12AX7 preamp tubes, (2) EL34 mini power tubes.

A great little amp for jazz, blues, and classic rock styles. Perfect amount of power, giving you the ability to get sweet overdrive distortion even in smaller coffee house-type venues without overpowering other instruments. I've used it in both jazz orchestras and rock bands for years, and it's been a perfect companion. Includes original Ampeg cover. The leather on the handle is cracking a bit, but it doesn't affect the functionality of the handle. Otherwise, in perfect condition. Originally paid $400, but will sell for $250 firm. Please check out the pictures, and read other users' reviews at Harmony Central and elsewhere. Serious buyers with cash only.

Killer recording amp!

EX shape all around. Tolex and cloth is clean. All original (tubes, transformer) except speaker replaced with period correct Jensen.
Sometimes compared to tweed deluxe for crunch factor.
Serviced no less than 6 months ago and working great.
$400 firm

1960 Ampeg Jet in Tulsa for $200 - needs Cap job and tubes

This seller seems like he is being very straight about this amp. A cap job and tubes ins standard on most vintage purcheses when you get a good price anyway. This is a nice "real vintage" amp for a good price if you are in the Tulsa OK area.

Ampeg J-12R in Chicago for $200

This is a good price on these recently discontinued Ampegs. Faithful remake of the old Ampeg combo with nice simple controls and REVERB! This gives a Blues junior a run for the money - and has a nice unique look if you are into diamond blue tolex.
