Vintage Realistic (Univox) 335 copy in Oakland CA for $100




Here is another cool Japanese 335 copy - this one has what look like P90 type single coil pickups and it has the more tightly clustered Vol and Tone knobs (note that they don't overlap the F-holes). I suppose it's up to you whether having the "Realistic" (i.e. Radio Shack) badge makes it ultra-cool or ultra dorky.

This is almost certainly a product of the same factory that produced Aria Diamond, Ventura, Bruno and Univox branded guitars.

  1. I have one and have been contacted by others who also have one. This guitar based on the plate on the back of the neck is probably built under an Epiphone contract. The plates are definitely Epiphone's. I won't post the link as requested but Radioshackcatalogs dot com (1969) page 77 has the add for this guitar.
