Kay Acoustic w Kelvinator Headstock in Denver for 4100

This acoustic must have some problems but the seller isn't really describing the specific issues. Looks like a birch guitar to me (though he says Cherry)- could be nice project for the right person.

A neat little number, wood is in excellent condition considering it's age. If I had to guess I would say it's cherry or Mahogany. This would make a great project for someone as Kays are infamous for having bad neck construction and bad bracings. I bought it with the intention to restore it but I never got around to it. Comes with case (not the original). $100 OBO

  1. I have a Kay acoustic with exactly the same headstock, given to me by someone for whom it was useless. The action is so high as to make chording impossible above the fourth fret, so it's permanently tuned to open Gmaj, and I use it every month at my delta blues ministry gigs. I play slide on it, and it has a decent tone.

  2. I just bought an acoustic Kay with an identical headstock. Do you have any idea what year it might be from? I'm happy to send a pic.
