1979 Gretsch Committee in Austin for $650

Not sure what they are going for these days but these Committees were some of the last of the Gretsch USA guitars before that company changed hands - and changed hands again. This "Neck Thru layered Walnut body style" was all the rage for about 10 minutes in the late 70's - inspired by the mighty Alembic basses before being quickly relegated to a slew of import Vantage and Westone guitars. Reminds me of Stanley Jordan's guitar. Sustain should be very nice on this. Though with the original black pickguard missing the aesthetics are up in the air. Still a fairly rare and unique USA made electric with a solid pedigree.

For sale, awesome Vintage Gretsch Committee guitar. I believe this one was issued in 1978 and it's in great shape. All original except for the pick ups which are TVJ Powerterons. Original pick ups are included in sale and comes with original Gretsch case. This thing screams and it has perfect neck width and body weight. Not too heavy and definitely not a light weight. Also, neck width is just right for players like me who have fat fingers. $650 or best offer
