Note: Please do not call and hassle this seller unsless you are seriously interested in buying the guitar (I've gotten some feedback from CL sellers about some of my readers bugging them with unreasonable requests).
Regular readers are probably saying - is Jim really highlighting a Five thousand dollar guitar - has he lost his mind? But here are the facts: this is a 1957 Gibson ES-175. It has two of the original first year issued PAF pickups. It has the original case. It looks to be in very good or possible excellent condition. The seller says they are the original owner (well their grandfather was a t least). All that bodes well for a good purchase.
Now considering that you could call every vintage guitar store in America and not find an original 1957 Gibson ES-175 for less than $10K - this looks like a pretty good deal.
Of course it also could be a scam - so "Let the Buyer Beware." Make sure you khow what you are doing.

Hello JC, My name is Dave Raynor and I am originally from Camas WA. I am currently in Branson MO playing at the Andy Williams Theater. I played guitar and sang for Bill (The Righteous Brothers) Medley last year here in Branson. I moved from Seattle May 2010 to play music here in Branson. I have now been awarded the guitar chair for Andy Williams starting in September 2011. I once had a blond version of this guitar but let it go years ago as I just wasn't using it live. Now...with the Andy Williams gig...it would be the greatest. I would love to get this instrument but I will have to wait for a few months for some royalty funds to come in. Perhaps you can keep me informed as to the activity of this guitar. I'm sorry I'm not in a better position to acquire this beautiful guitar at this time. I just wanted you to know I have my eye on it. Thanks....Dave Raynor.
