Domino Hawk in Minneapolis area for $375

I wouldn't normally get excited about $375 for a Domino (though I do like them) but this Hawk is a rare Japanese made hollowbody in the all-to-rare white finish and it looks to be in very nice shape (hopefully all orginal).  Definitely worth taking a look if you like these unique relics of late 1960's California guitar culture.

Pretty cool and pretty rare 1960's Japanese made Domino Hawk hollowbody electric with f-holes and nice bigsby style whammy bar. Plays good, in clean condition, clean hardware, all original. Backside has several stress cracks in the finish that don't go to the wood.

  1. Is this guitar still for sale? If so, I will happily buy it for $375. Would you ship to Los Angeles? I have plenty of references, including an ebay store with a 12 year flawless feedback history. I am a huge Domino collector and have a little website dedicated to them (link is included in this post).

If this is still available, I'd really appreciate a response! Thank you for your time. -Darren Robinson

  2. Darren: You commented on my Blog (CL Vintage Guitar Hunt) so I contacted the seller of that white Domino Hawk in Minnetonka - his name is John McCrady and he is willing to box and ship it to you for $300 + the cost of shipping. His email is johnmccrady@aol.com - I told him you were a friend of mine from LA and that you would be contacting him. Good Luck. Let me know how it turns out. - JIm C

  4. I have this exact guitar minus the black (guard?) on the body. Mine too has a couple of stress cracks in the finish, but is in otherwise great shape and all original. My father purchased it after coming home from Vietnam in the late 60's. Don't know much about it and found this picture while trying to do a little research. Would be willing to sell for the right price. Mark (deezdad1@verizon.net)
