Kay Penncrest acoustic in Syracuse, NY for $75

This seller is offering a guitar that probably cost $30 brand new back in the 1950's or 60's but check it out.  A Kay built Penncrest (for J.C. Penney) with a solid Spruce top and mahogany (it appears) back and sides.    Now, I would not expect the neck or fretboard to be anything approaching awesome but hey - it's only $75 bucks!

The use of a bolt on neck on an acoustic is not so radical or weird - it's been done by a half dozen different guitar makers over the years, including Fender.

Note:  this guitar is located in Memphis New York (near Syracuse) - not Memphis TN.

  1. Bolt on neck just means won't have to worry about burning yourself when you reset the neck!

Good find, these are killer little blues boxes for next to nothing.
