Mossman guitars are some of the finest hand-made acoustic flattops in the world. The fact this is a 1974 tells me the back and sides are made from all solid Brazilian Rosewood.
S.L. Mossman died in 1999 but his legacy lives on in these amazing hand crafted instruments. At their peak output his shop only made 8 - 10 instruments per day so these are rare and prized for their beauty and tone. This one has some minor repairs but should still be a fine collectible player.

For Sale: Vintage 12 String Acoustic Guitar.
1974 S.L. Mossman 12 String guitar, Flint Hills model with original (Guild) case. Spruce top with rosewood back and sides. Grover tuners. Repaired cracks on top soundboard and also has cracks/swirls in finish. Two cracks by where then neck connects to soundboard. Needs some work but it's a beautiful, handmade guitar. $600 or best offer plus shipping.
Was so excited to find this ad...until the part about cracks at neck/body juncture. My much beloved "post-fire" Mossman suffered a tragic demise when a gentle fall broke her neck. Too bad it's such a design flaw (compared to Taylors), because the sound is truly gorgeous. Fell in love on first few notes played and invested far more than I'd intended, just to possess it. Got 10 good years from it, though.
