This seller is offering a 50+ year old Silvertone U-1 made by Danelectro. This one looks mostly original save the Vol and Tone control knobs which can be found and replaced if you are so inclined. That said, the value of these old Danelectro's is not so much in their 100% original condition (unlike a Fender or Gibson) but in their playability and tone if they have been maintained well over the years. People don't hang Danelectro's on their wall to admire - they play 'em, sometimes damned hard! I've seen several Indie and Alt Country guitarists over the years grab one of these U-1's off a stand and unleash monster licks wit a slide.

Vintage Late 1950s Silvertone Danelectro U1 Guitar - $375
For sale is a late 1950s Silvertone Guitar made by Danelectro, U1
guitar. These guitar are becoming more and more difficult to find,
especially ones in good, playable shape. This specific guitar is (in my
opinion) perfectly aged, showing some gorgeous wear from a life of
playing, but still in great working shape. Great jazz or blues guitar
(it makes a stellar slide guitar). Tone & Volume pots have been
professionally cleaned up and work with no glitches, playing through the
single lipstick pickup. Original hardshell case comes with it,
including the original cord sold with these guitars and a vintage tuner.
A true piece of American music history.

This seller is offering what appears to me to be a 2001 Fender Deluxe Stratocaster. The difference between the Deluxe model and the "American Standard" model in 2001 was the abalone fret dot inlays (which you can see clearly in his photos) and Sperzel locking tuners as well as SCN or "virtual noiseless pickups." The Deluxes also have a more carefully machined fretboard that includes rolled edges on the frets that give it a nice broken in smooth playing feel - something most vintage gear players look for in a guitar.
Not everyone is a fan of the SCN pickups - most vintage gear players embrace the buzz and hum of an old single coil since it lets the pickup breathe and respond instantly to subtle changes in the magnetic fields. But this is purely a matter of personal taste. Many professionals can't stand any kind of buzz of hum in a guitar.
I am selling my lightly used American Corona California Custom made
2001 issued Fender Stratocaster. The reason I am selling is because I
rarely play the Fender. It is an excellent guitar, in excellent
condition, always stored in the hardshell case which is included in the
sale. Guitar comes with original white face plate and a black face
plate. If you have any question or can offer any cash, please send an
email to me. I will be in town until Sunday 5/11, then I am moving out
of state. 1 original owner, smoke free environment, selling due to
relocation and not playing the instrument. Serious inquires only,
please no major low offers, no trades either.

This seller is clearly an expert and has posted a meticulous listing for this absolutely stunning vintage tube amp and speaker cabinet. These Bell & Howell Filmosound tube amps are considered by some to be the "cream of the crop" as far as build quality and components. In fact the tube complement, including the original British made 12AX7 Mullard tubes in this amp are worth a considerable small fortune on their own - let alone the rest of the perfectly matched and preserved ensemble. If you are anywhere near Lubbock TX and are looking for a nifty vintage tube combo with some serious MOJO, I recommend you check this listing out.
For sale is an early 1950s Bell and Howell Filmosound 15 watt all tube
amplifier featuring point to point wiring and 6V6 push pull circuitry
and a matching B&H Speaker cabinet with original Jensen 12" speaker
in amazing original condition. This classic combination includes the
very low hour amplifier extensively and professionally bench tested in
pristine original condition with no corrosion or damage of any kind. The
hand wired circuitry is all original with only the photo electronic
tube used in the original projector application removed for optimization
in use as a guitar microphone or instrument amp. The premium tube
compliment is all original B&H silkscreened logo tubes including two
6V6 output pentodes (with a third for screen voltage regulation) the
original RCA 5Y3 rectifier and 5879 dual element tube for voltage gain
and two matched B&H British Mullard 12AX7 dual triodes for the Class
A front end and driver stages. This amp can drive both 8 and 16 ohm
speaker cabs with plenty of clean power wide range tone control and
superb crunch when overdriven. I am an old retired recording studio
service calibration tech and can assure that the original circuitry
including capacitors resistors and wiring has never required repair of
any kind and the amp has not been unnecessarily tweaked modified or
otherwise altered by unskilled tube amp Guru wannabees. The very rare
early generation Tombstone Deco speaker cabinet has the original white
and burgundy felt B&H logo and grill in pristine condition with the
inner matching felt lining to the entire cab equally clean and nice. The
hinged back of the cab allows access to cable storage and is tight with
no unwanted vibration issues when used at full volume. The original
Jensen P12 Alnico 25 watt rated 16 ohm speaker is in mint condition with
complete B&H labeling and tan paint scheme to the frame and bell
housing with the date code showing it was manufactured the 9th week of
1952. The cone voice coil and spyder assembly are perfect and the
original B&H dedicated terminals are provided with a standard 1/4
inch phone jack lead to allow use of this cab with other tube amps. The
only cosmetic issue is the expected scuffs to the outer two-tone gray
paint of the cab which was the result of storage at times without the
included original B&H logo heavy quilted and padded cloth cover. 60+
years young and going strong this is a rare local opportunity to
acquire an authentic Boutique amp from the Golden era. For the guitar
player or blues harpist desiring this unique combo I am asking $225
CASH. This price is cash only and firm. Please be patient and I'll try
to answer email as quickly as possible. Thank you. If this ad is still
listed then it is still available so please don't email asking if it is
still available.

The seller is misinformed as to the wattage of this little Alamo - it is more like 6 watts than 50 (like many casual owners he innocently is mistaking the wattage 'draw" for the wattage output), however I will say that if you are a collector or a vintage gear hound this particular Alamo he is offering is in excellent vintage condition and it is also one of the more desirable offerings from the 1960's San Antonio, Texas based guitar and amp company. Many of Alamo's tube amps either had solid state preamps or silicon output rectifiers - thankfully this one does not. It has the traditional 5Y3 rectifier tube giving it similar performance and tonal characteristics as its vintage peers like the Fender Champ and many Valco, Harmony, Magnatone, Danelectrro and Silvertone amps of the period. Don't expect that little cabinet to be very sturdy. It adds to the charm.
I have rare collectable early 60s Alamo challenger 2562 combo amp,
which is in perfect working condition and sounds amazing for recording.
This design was Alamo's answer to the Fender Champ amp. The circuitry
and tube completelment are supposed to be very similar: the tubes are
12AX7, 5Y3GT and 6V6 and has 10'' speaker. This amp has an incredible
sound very compatible to a Fender Champ amp with a very Fendery clean
sound in the first half of the volume range and then it gets a nice
grind going after that. This amp is super-clean and sounds great at any
volume. I love this amp and will definitely regret selling it for but I
am very strapped for cash right now. So if you have any questions please
call or text me. id be happy to send you more pics or videos of it in
action.

Yes, I agree, $12K is a lot of money for a guitar. But this seller is offering what appears to be a one owner pre-CBS Stratocaster and if it turns out that everything is 100% original then the guitar is being offered below current market value. As always - proceed with great caution. If you don't know what to look for then you'd be taking a big risk with the purchase. A refinish (even a good one) would likely drop the value of this guitar below $10K.
You don't see a lot of the Olympic White Strats out there from this period. 1964 is Pre-CBS - this one may or may not have the transition logo, I can't tell from the photo. Click thru to the original post to contact seller.
I am reposting items here that are listed on CRAIGSLIST throughout the USA. I am not selling any of these items and I cannot facilitate the sale of anything here - so please do not comment or post questions like "Is this still available?" or "I am interested in your guitar please call me, etc." You need to contact the seller directly by calling the phone number listed on the post or by going to the CL listing and emailing them. NEW FEATURE: Click on the title of the CL Listing inside my post to LINK thru to the original Post. If the original CL listing is deleted the item most likely is no longer available. Thanks for checking out my blog and GOOD LUCK!
Please don't call, contact, bother or harass these sellers long after their post is expired. Take for granted if the listing is over 30 days old that the guitar or amp is LONG GONE! Thank you.
