Silvertone 1478 electric guitar in Chicago for $300

This seller is offering a vintage Silvertone 1478 from some time in the mid 1960's for $300.  This one is very similar to the ones St. Vincent plays - she has both a 3 pickup and a two pickup version.  These DeArmond Diamond face pickups sound very nice.  Terrific for Indie and experimental rock.

Teisco/Kawai Vintage Gold Foil Electric guitar in Hamilton NJ for $170

This model being offered for sale in South NJ is likely a Kawai or maybe a Lafayette but it is still probably from the same Japanese factory as the original Teisco guitars.  The key here is the nice fat neck (with tiny frets) and gold foil pickups.  This model could be from the 60's or early 70's but it shows little to no play wear and a nice overall finish.  Could be a winner for slide akin to an E-100 though this is not a "set neck" guitar.  Worth checking out if you are in the market for something unique and as old as your uncle Bob. - JC

model name / number: unknown
Selling a vintage Japanese made guitar that shows very little wear.

Not marked. Searched hard to find maker and only found one identical guitar online which the seller on Reverb.com identified as Kawai/Teisco manufactured. Can't say definitively who made this one. Found similar ones with Telstar and Arrow brand name but no other identical.

Guitar appears to be all original, untampered with, unmodified, and shows very little wear. If you look close you can see some small nicks and scratches but not bad at all. Neck is straight. No apparent fret wear. Both pickups and all controls working correctly. Seems to stay in tune pretty well- needs new strings as the ones on it currently probably decades old. Distinctive tremolo mechanism, no tremolo bar when found.

Chromed metal pickguard. One tuner is a little bent out of shape but still turns OK, will let buyer address that if they want. Four bolt neck with backplate marked Japan. Thin lightweight body style. Action is pretty low no apparent string buzzing, can probably use a prof. setup and adjustment for maximum return. No case.
