Acoustic Control 1981 Model G100T/ Model 160 100 watt tube head at GC in Kenwood MI for $149

I spotted this Acoustic Control tube guitar head on the Guitar Center website and was surprised they were offering it for only $149.99.  These usually sell in the $300-$500 range and are much-loved by their owners.  This was Acoustics version of the Mesa-Boogie head and it has the switchable 5 band EQ along with a quartet of 6L6GT power tubes and three 12AX7's in the preamp.  Well built amplifiers that were made in Van Nuys CA prior to Acoustic closing their USA operations in the mid 1980's.

 Note that they have it listed as a Model 250 which IK have seen references to but have never seen an actual photo of, but from everything I can see in the pic on the GC site it is identical to the 1981 model 160.  I don't know what the difference would be between the two so keep that in mind if you are considering buying this.

I posted some pics that I took from another website that show the guts and tube layout of the Model 160 below the GC listing.

I called and talked to the sales rep at GC on this one and he said the amp looks good and works fine except that the button that switches between channel 1 and channel 2 is not working - it is stuck on channel 2 - which should still give you access to all the features - and I would suppose the switch just needs to be replaced after 30+ years.    I asked him for a shipping quote to give you an idea of what this will cost to your door and I will post that when he sends it to me.  - JC

1967 Framus Caravelle Semi-Hollow Electric in State College PA for $160

The seller listed this guitar on July 15 so this may already be gone but this is a pretty good deal for a vintage Framus Electric if you don't mind the crack (or can fix it yourself).  Nice looking Maple guitar from a good company that is known for making nice electric instruments.

What needs work: Has a hairline crack on the side of the guitar, but doesn't run through the body of the guitar.

Electromuse 1940's Lap Steel in North NJ for $200

This seller is offering an Electromuse lap steel for $200.   Depending on whom you ask, Electromuse can sometimes get credit for inventing the first electric guitar pickup sometime in the 1930's.  I also believe there is some distant relationship to the early Rickenbacker company but I forget the details.  Neat little lappie.

Harmony H415 2x12 Tube Combo Amp in Allentown PA for $300

This seller is offering a pretty nice deal on a Harmony H415, a nice Chicago built tube amp from the mid to late 1960's.  The appears to be familiar with this model and he is offering it an an excellent price.

Vintage Tube Amp 2x12 Harmony H415 - $300 (Slatington)

Selling an nice Harmony H-415 Twin-Twelve guitar amplifier. Not a mint or "like new" piece, it's a great used vintage amp and very far from junk. Has one original Jensen C12R speaker and over the years the other was replaced with a Fischer 12". Recapped except for the multican capacitor (I have a JJ multican cap I'll include). Recovered, not professionally but looks very nice. Chrome control panel has some pitting that is typical for an amp of this age. Has been converted to a 3-prong cord for electrical safety. Working tube tremolo which is very nice sounding. Also has a new NOS rectifier tube installed. I think these are about 30 watts, nicely loud with that sweet breakup you don't get from today's amps. Perfect for serious recording musicians or studios when that vintage vibe is needed. Only reason I'm selling is I have it's baby brother, an H410, which suits my needs much better and I could use the funds to restore it. Bring your axe, test it out, and take it home today for $300. Given that these amps have sold for nearly $1000 on ebay, I think that's a real fair price for a working investment piece. May consider lefty guitars in full/partial trade.

Benson 300 tube combo amp in Redondo Beach CA for $800

This seller is offering a very rare and desirable amp from the late 60's called a Benson 300.  These were pro amps popular with studio players back in the day and you don't see them for sale very often.  Sort of like the Standel Bass amps in the sense that studio players bought them, used them, and held onto them.

It looks like this one has the original 15" Altec Lansing speaker which would make it a Model 300.

Early Ibanez/Guyatone Japanese Electric in Los Angeles area for $150

This seller is offering what appears to be a late 60's Guyatone or very early Ibanez model electric guitar.  The nut has broken loose and shifted over but other than that is appears to be all original.  Note that, although it says "steel reinforced neck," a quick examination of the pics will show that there is no adjustable truss rod on this guitar.   That is okay as long as the neck is straight and playable as it is but let the buyer beware.

This guitar looks very similar to the "Talman" retro vintage models that Ibanez put out in recent years - basically copying their own earlier electric guitars right down to using the same pickup switches and knobs.
