Obviously, there are a lot of amazing guitar players posting on outube but if you haven't checked out Mathias W. (Weber) already then you are in for a treat. He never talks in his videos so I don't even know if he speaks English but wow - what a player. His style reminds me a little bit of Junior Brown - insane double stops pulloffs and bends combined with very tasty melodic lead playing. he can shred with the best of them but he rarely does - mostly he plays the guitar as what it was designed to be - a musical instrument.
Check him out on this terrific solo guitar version of Alvin Lee's "I'm going Home" (sands vocals).
This seller is currently offering this same amp on eBay for $225 but with $50 shipping so I am sure it won't be available soon - but I wanted to list it because you don't see many Ariatones on CL.
These were made by Estey who also made Magnatones - it doesn't have the "true Vibrato" circuit but it is still a nice little Vibro Champ alternative.

This seller is offering a St. George tube guitar amp from the 1960's for $150. there is a lot of chatter online about these St. George amps because some people believe they were built by one of Leo Fender amp designers named Ray Massie. I don't know about that - this one looks more similar to a Lectrolab R500C than anything Leo Fender ever built - but the debate goes on.
What is amazing about these types of amps is the way they are built. We've all heard of "Point-to-point" circuit constructions - but these amps take it further to where there is not even a breadboard - they just solder the resistors directly to the lead wires of the output tubes and the volume and tone pots! Apparently these amps were ubiquitous here in SoCal back in the 1960's since they were built for a store called George's Music right here in LA. The circuit on this one is pretty straightforward: Two 12AX7 preamp tubes (one split for use with the tremolo), a pair of 6BQ5 output tubes (like a Vox AC15) and an EZ81 rectifier tube. Not a whole lot of power to push a PAIR of 12 inch speakers - but they are alnico's so they should be fairly efficient. I'd imagine this is about as loud as one of those 'lil Fender Blues Jr's. Of course it probably needs a cap job and a good cleanup and overhaul - but it should be fun to play with.
Maybe Tom Morello should buy this to go along with the St. George Guitar he plays on "Calm Like a Bomb"! LOL.
St George Amp. Mid 60s. don't know much about amps I plugged a
vintage bass in.It worked some buzz and left speaker a little rattle.The

This seller is offering one of the better early Teisco models with a mahogany body, two good pickups and the early style Teisco neck. Looks to be in good condition and comes with a hardshell case. Not bad for $200.
It has the most desirable of the gold-foils with the screws along the edge - just like Ry Cooder's.
I have 2 vintage guitars, made in Japan in the 1960's and
1970's. They both have a quite a bit of cosmetic wear, but are very
playable:
Teisco Del Rey, from around 1966. It has "gold foil microphonic"
pickups which have great tone, an aluminum pick guard with lines etched
in it, and markers on the upper side of the neck. $200 with a well
fitting roadrunner case included.
Electra, chambered Les Paul type, from around 1976. It is model 2252.
It looks alot like a Gibson, but is very different, with a bolt on neck.
Like the Teisco, it is a very high guality instrument and looks like
it could easily survive another 40 years of heavy use as well as it
survived the first 40. $250, also with a nice case.
This seller is offering a late 1960's Gibson B-15 acoustic in what appears to be very nice original condition with the original case for a very nice price of only $325. Grab this up if you are near Scottsdale AZ. - JC
