These Premiers are quite rare and this one is very pretty. I love the tailpiece and the fixed adjustable bridge probably helps quite a bit (though it lowers the collectible value). These are not heavily collected so it is really a matter of taste but I personally like the look and construction of this guitar quite a bit.
Note: Seller says that he is the original owner and I don't see any reason not to believe him.
2nd Note: I apologize to my regular readers that I haven't been posting much the last few months. I've ben busy writing a novel and all my free time has gone to that project. I am almost finished my first draft so I will be back on this blog more frequently in the new year. - Jim C.
*************************
My Father bought me this guitar in 1958 and I have been playing it ever since.
Back in the old days many guitars were sold by sears and the five&dime stores.
The better instruments were sold in music shops. premier sold side by side with Gibson.
Before
I listed it I took it to a guitar repair shop. The owner was amazed at
how rock solid and stable this guitar is. He has an online info page.
His name is Dave Fecca Guitar repair of Moorestown NJ.
Everything
is original..except..the guitar repair replaced some wiring. Also,
twenty years ago I replaced the bridge with an adjustable one which
allows for better intonation and action changes.
The binding needs to be replaced if it bothers you, it never did me and it does not seem to affect the sound.
You
can't beat these old woods for sound. This is original 1950s when rock
first started. Elvis and Chuck Berry was the reason I started playing.
Live a little history with this guitar that has given me so much and
made me a lot of money playing gigs.
Original hard case and Free shipping.
Good luck bidding. Don't lose out.
