1999 AVRI 62 Stratocaster (USA) in Birmingham AL area for $650

These AVRI Strats are very nice - they look, feel and sound pretty much like well-made vintage guitars. They are usually fairly pricey - well over $1200 new so this one looks like a good deal - he says you don't get the hard case so it's up to you to decide if that makes it a worthwhile deal. Note: This guitar has been relic'd!

the reason this guitar is so cheap is it does NOT come with the hard-shell case, but comes with a gig-bag
the guitar was "reliced" after the factory, and needs to be set up!
comes with all the original parts that are on the guitar and all the extras like the 5 way switch and strap and etc.....
but i thought this was a very VERY reasonable price for this guitar
and it sounds amazing when plugged in
here are some specs i got from the web:

Fender 1983 Dan SMith USA Strat at GC in NC for $749

Here is a nice "Dan Smith" USA Strat made at the newCorona plant before the big fire shut them down in 1985. These are identified by the single VOL and TONE and the ouput jack on the pickguard. Fender's long-standing American employees were hand building nice gutars with a skeleton crew at this point and these "interim" guitars are testament to how much they still cared.

Fender Toronado at GC in east Brunswick NJ for $249

I've been listing some Guitar Center used gear listings recently b/c I discovered that GC ships guitars all over the country for fairly cheap (around $16).

This Toronado appears to be the MIM version with the hybrid bridge (instead of the previous version with the Gibson style stop tailpiece). I haven't played these so I can't vouch for them but it is a nice looking unique guitar. They list for about $700+ and generally sell for $499 so this one is good deal. It is missing one tone knob.

Check this out - Kay / Gretsch or Japanese - you tell me?

Okay - here is one I have never seen before - has similarities to Kay Swingmaster, Barney Kessel type guitars but check out all that funky teardrop accent work!? That Pickguard? And the sweet herringbone binding - was this a one off? or a later Japanese clone (note that it is a bolt on neck but he doesn't show us the rear.

Unfortunately the seller seeems to be looking for quite a bit in trade for this possible non-working guitar. He wants a Honda Scooter or a Mac computer. Maybe someone can talk some sense into him. Or maybe it really is a gretch (sic!)

This almost looks like it was purposely dust covered by some Hollywood propmaster.

Vintage Realistic (Univox) 335 copy in Oakland CA for $100

Here is another cool Japanese 335 copy - this one has what look like P90 type single coil pickups and it has the more tightly clustered Vol and Tone knobs (note that they don't overlap the F-holes). I suppose it's up to you whether having the "Realistic" (i.e. Radio Shack) badge makes it ultra-cool or ultra dorky.

This is almost certainly a product of the same factory that produced Aria Diamond, Ventura, Bruno and Univox branded guitars.
