These K27's are very nice acoustics and far superior to some of the other lesser Jumbo's and other flat top acoustics Kay made over the years.
Very similar in size and shape to a Gibson J-200 these have a two-piece solid (not laminate) Spruce top and solid maple back and sides. These are X-braced guitars so they resonate fairly well. The MOP inlays on the fretbaord and headstock show this to be a circa 1955 version. In fact if you look at the pic of Elmore James and his famous Kay acoustic you'll see it has the exact same headstock. This guitar shows some serious play wear on the top but for some of us that just adds to the mojo.
BTW - I can't tell from the photos but if those are still the original tuners they would be the same Kluson sealed tuning machines you would get on a 1950's Gibson.
