Fender American Vintage 70's RI Strat at GC in Nashua NH for $449

Unless the listing on the Guitar Center Used Gear site is an outright lie this should be a Fender American (USA) Vintage RI 70's Stratocaster with altered pickups (looks like a Seymour Duncan or Bill Lawrence Rails pickup in the neck position and a Fender or other type Humbucker in the bridge).

I will admit the mismatched pickups make this Strat look UGLY - and brown ain't the prettiest color to start with. But the pickup covers can be easily switched. And brown is very much a legit vintage 70's color for a Stratocaster.

This price was just dropped from $649 to $449. Unless there is something else wrong with it this looks like a good deal.

Guitar Center will box and ship guitars anywhere in the USA for about $20 (I've done it with them before).

  1. called and found out it's probably a Highway 1 (60th anniversary) strat, basically the same guitar as here: http://profile.ultimate-guitar.com/tsk84eva/pictures/gear/21761/

  2. Thanks for the update. I don't see how they could mistake a Highway 1 for a 70's RI? Totally different headstock, Bullet truss rod, 3 bolt neck plate etc. Another typical GC oversight. that said, it is still a good deal een on a Highway 1. I've never seen a brown one. - JC

I appreciate your comments but please no commercial links or non guitar related conversations. Thank you. - JC

IMPORTANT NOTE TO ALL READERS

I am reposting items here that are listed on CRAIGSLIST throughout the USA. I am not selling any of these items and I cannot facilitate the sale of anything here - so please do not comment or post questions like "Is this still available?" or "I am interested in your guitar please call me, etc." You need to contact the seller directly by calling the phone number listed on the post or by going to the CL listing and emailing them. NEW FEATURE: Click on the title of the CL Listing inside my post to LINK thru to the original Post. If the original CL listing is deleted the item most likely is no longer available. Thanks for checking out my blog and GOOD LUCK!

Please don't call, contact, bother or harass these sellers long after their post is expired. Take for granted if the listing is over 30 days old that the guitar or amp is LONG GONE! Thank you.
