Vintage Ampeg Reverbrocket 2 GS-12R Tube Combo Amp in Los Angeles area for $275

This seller in Northridge CA (Los Angeles area) is offering a cosmetically challenged Ampeg Reverbrocket 2 (GS-12G).  These are from the late 1960's and they are one of the more desirable of the Ampeg Combos.   This one is a little worse for wear - seller says its been in storage for 35 years - but they say it was brought up slowly on a Variac and is in good working condition.

Definitely worth a look if you are in the market for a vintage tube combo and don't have a lot to spend.  These old Ampegs are built very solidly.  The reverb circuit is different than the Fender circuit and I think the Echo is more like "oil can" echo. You will see RR2's out there in much better cosmetic shape but those prices are generally several hundred dollars more than this one. - Jim C.

I am selling this Rare Vintage Ampeg Reverberocket 2 Tube type Guitar Amp model GS-12R, this is the scarce early blue chrome face model! This amp was in storage for the last 35 years, it has some pitting on the front panel and the lettering is weak (almost gone in places), the Tolex covering on the case is poor in places (see pictures), someone has installed an Electrovoice SP-12B 12" Alnico Magnet speaker. Now on the good side, I brought the amp up to voltage slowly on a variac and the amp works! I don't have a guitar to test all the functions, so I hooked up a CD player to the guitar input and the amp sounds quite good. The Tremolo works as does the Echo (hard to tell on the Echo with a CD). As you can see from the pictures, the wiring and components all look original to me. The tubes are all vintage! There are 2, Amperex Bugle Boy 12AX7's, a GE 6U10 and the 2 outputs are GE 7591's. All in all, this will make a terrific amp for a musician. The Amp is sold "as is" due to its age. I am only asking $275.00 for this RARE Classic Amp! Please CALL or TEXT Jon at the listed number. show contact info
