Fender 2004 HRD Deluxe LTD w/ solid Maple Dovetail cabinet in Cape Cod for $655

Though this seller doesn't seem to know much about his own amp (he thinks it is a 180 watt amp) this is still a really nice and rare amp for a very good price. Fender made these LTD HRD tube amps back in 2004 and they came in both a "Sunburst" and a nice richly stained solid Maple finish.  The Sunburst looked aweful IMO, but these maple cabinets are sweet.  You could easily pay $500 or more just to have a doevtail cabinet like this made - and these come with the tube amp and a nice Vintage style Jensen RI speaker.

Note:  These are not hand-wired tag board amps like the more pricey 59 LTD but the Hot Rod Deluxe is a reliable circuit design well proven in hundreds of studios and blues and rock clubs.

Here Is a Limitted edition 180 w Fender Delux amp that is awesome. This amp is a copy of a vintage amp of the 50,s. This amp gives you the best of both worlds. It has the vintage sound with out the vintage break downs. This amp was used in a studio and my home and is about 6 years old. It is absolutely mint as the day I bought it.$ 655.00 or B/O

This amp looks like a peice of fine furniture. Tungue and groove cabnet in maple. No dents, scratches or marks. This amp gets confused with a lower end Fender delux,"this is the limitted edition with a Jensen red cap 12 inch speaker wich is copied exact and is a Jensen ", not the one with the blue cap fender speaker.

You can buy new,pay the tax and pay more,or you can buy this amp and get the same brand new amp for far less money. "This amp was bought for $1500.00 because it is a limitted edition exact copy with added circuits.

Guitar Center Deals - Super Reverb amp, Gibson Corvus Guitar, Les Paul GK-55

I am always keeping an eye on the Used Gear sale prices at GC around the country and there are some decent deals.  There is a nice Fender 70's Silverface Super Reverb at the GC in Tallahassee FL for only $499.  And I spotted an unusual find, a GIBSON CORVUS at the GC in Atlanta, GA for only $499.  I am not sure which version or color (there is a Corvus I, II and III) since there is no pic. There is also a 1979 Gibson Les Paul GK-55 (one of the last Kalamazoo electric guitars) for $729 at the GC in Tukwila, WA.

Magnatone 410 Custom "Diana" 1962 tube combo amp in Detroit for $350

The 410 is a 18 watt Magnatone amp made by Estey in Torrance CA circa 1962. It is a nice simple amp with volume, tone and Magnatone's "True Vibrato" - do not hesitate to buy this amp if it is is good working condition.  These are excellent amplifiers and highly collectible.  There is no pic on the listing but it looks just like any vintage Magnatone from the period.  This is not the "suitcase model" type M-series but the earlier.

Note:  I found the same seller had posted this amp a few days ago with pics so I am including theme here - the amp has a replacement Celestion speaker but that is not a bad thing - less collectible but still a good amp.

Vintage Westone Dynasty. From the famed Matsumoku plant, Japan, mid 80's. Super cool. Plays great (output jack needs re-soldering or replacement), neck's straight with very little fretwear. Floyd Rose style trem with original whammy bar. Pin stripes are original and are part of the finish...she looks like a "Klingon Bird of Prey"! Missing a tone knob. Pots are push/pull coil taps for the humbuckers and a phase shift for the single coil. This guitar is SUPER COOL! Comes with original hard shell case. Greco 1968 "Shrike" - RARE Japanese COllectors Guitar in Independence MO area for $200

These "Shrike" guitars with the wild "L" (or "V") shaped pickups were Greco's top of the line electrics before they became known for their immaculate Les Paul copies in the 1970's. Totally unique and oh so collectible cool - right up there with the Teisco Kawai May Queen for Japanophiles. I have no idea if this one is in working condition but it is the more modernist version with the jagged "f" holes and cool Green burst body. I've always wanted one of these along with a May Queen, a Domino Californian Rebel and an Epiphone Scroll - all unique and quirky Japanese guitar designs. Somebody ought to snatch this one up fast.

Harmony H415 18 watt tube 2x12 combo amp in Gainesville FL for $300

This H415 was Harmony's USA made version of a Marshall 18 watt Bluesbreaker (before the Bluesbreaker existed). It may lack the preamp gain of the Marshall but with a 5Y3 rectifier and modest sized output trannie this baby saturates and overdrives easily making this a heck of a vintage tube combo amp.

This model has had some vintage Rola Alnico's added in place of the original Jensen ceramics that would have been in this amp. They should still sound pretty good and alnico's are more efficient so you should get good volume.

Here are some specs: "Harmony Mid sixties twin 12, dual channel tube guitar amp. Both channels have vol and tone. there is Tremolo that can be controlled by a footswitch with settings for intensity and speed. The power switch can shift the ground polarity and there is a standby. Tubes are 5y3, 2x 6bq5 (EL84), 6au6, and 2 x 12ax7."

5 Vintage Guittars in Detroit area for $500 total - incl Greco, Supro Lap Steel and Teisco Checkmate - $500 total

It is up to you whether you think this is a good deal or not but the Greco Semi-hollow and the Supro Lap steel are probably worth the $500 asking price - and Checkmate (Teisco) folk style acoustics are fairly rare to find these days (though it still ain't worth much).  The Crestwood and the Drifter just basic 70's imports.

He says he doesn't ant to separate them but you never know. If you could score just the Supro Lap and the Greco electric for $300 total that would be a heck of a deal.

Vox Super Lynx Deluxe in Fort Myers FL area for $450

I don't know what is going on with this seller but he had this guitar listed for $700 a few weeks ago.  He doesn't seem to have a decent photo of it and keeps putting web pics and links to other photos on his listing.

If you are into these Eko-Crucianelli made Vox guitars from the 1960's (not the 50's) you may really dig this one.  These don't turn up very often on this side of the pond - they are usually found for sale in England and Europe.

Vintage Kalamazoo K-2 electric - Gibson made early 60's solidbody in Boston for $375

These fly way under the radar - Kalamazoo was basically Gibsons 2nd tier student brand but the components are all the same or similar to the Gibson parts of the same era.  For instance these would be original 60's Melody maker single coil pickups and that stop tailpiece should be the same ones that collectors pay hundreds for as replacement for the old Les Paul Jr.

Nobody seems to be collecting these guitars so you can still find them cheap - compare this price to a 1965 Fender Mustang -  amazing, isn't it?

Cool Vintage Gear in Boston, VOX, Magnatone, Gibson, Danelectro

A couple of neat vintage offerings in the Boston area - that Magnatone is a little pricey but it is a nice amp and has the origibnal cover and footswitch.  The Vox Cabinet is a Berkely II made by Thomas Organ - but still pretty cool.  And I like the idea of the switch to wire the SG bridge pickup straight to the output jack - that's an interesting idea and I may try it on a guitar in the future.  I've had more than one occasion where a pickup sounded good running straight into the amp but then when I wired it into the guitar tone circuit it lost some of its edge.   That's not a bad price on the Dano bass either.   They look so cool in the original (or old refin) Gold.

Vox Berkeley 2x10" Speaker Cab $287 BO

Non-original speakers, crack in back panel. Cloth and logo good. Handle is intact! Sounds great, bright and open.

Magnatone M10 Tube combo $797

Very cool and rare 60's stereo Magnatone M10 with reverb, unique tone switches, two channels, that crazy and unique Magnatone vibrato and original cover and footswitch. About 38 watts output. Everything works and sounds great. It can be shimmering clean or break up nice for blues and rock stuff. $797

1979 Gibson SG

Great playing and sounding '79 SG. Repaired crack at neck joint and near controls. Guitar is solid, though. Gibson tremolo. New candy apple red Chevy paint job. Was walnut. Refretted with jumbos a while back. Mini switch sends bridge pickup direct to jack; amazing difference in tone. $857

1956 Premier 76 $647

People love these things for harp, but it's a ripping little guitar amp. Really sweet original Jensen blue P12 speaker. Original amp. Has trem but it doesn't seem to work. Folds up like a suitcase! Clean brass and cloth and super cool look to the amp!

1960's Danelectro Shorthorn Bass

Looks like might be old refin. Plays great and sounds killer. As shown. $497

1967 Fender Twin Reverb - non-Master version - in San Diego for $700

Here is a decent - though the cabinet and cloth are pretty beat up - 1967 Silverface non-master volume Twin Reverb that has had the circuit "blackfaced" for that nice vintage tone.  Has a couple square magnet Ceramic speakers - they look like they could be CMI's or something simlar.  The seller doesn't seem to think very highly of this amp - or at least thinks it is not too valuable because the tolex is so beat and torn up - but as a workhorse 85 watt 40+ year old Fender tube amp - this could be a solid usable amp.

I wouldn't recommend contacting this seller unless you can go pick up the amp - people RARELY ever ship these Silverface Twins across the country - they usually weigh over 70 lbs and are very unwieldy to box up.

Check it out...

If you are interested in having a vintage amp for your collection or

You wont find a guitar like this anywhere, alot of the greats played this thing, so if your serious get ahold of me. if not then dont bother. thanks! This is a very collectible guitar. Matching set of Kay Value Leader Guitar and Bass in Boston for $500 - Nice!

This is a very cool matching set of Kay electrics from the mid 1960's - both are Value Leaders one is a six-string two pickup guitar and the other is the more rare Electric bass.  Both also include the original case.  It sounds like the current owner is a collector and has cared for them well.   This is a rare opportunity.

Matching Kay Guitar and Bass-Mid-60's Vintage - $500 (Concord, MA)

Date: 2010-04-05, 12:25PM EDT

Reply to: [Errors when replying to ads?]

This is a matching set of mid-60’s era Kay electric 6-string guitar and 4-string bass. Each is semi-hollow body with matching sunburst finish and maple-like fretboard and maple-like adjustable bridges. I do not really know the actual wood type. The guitar and bass and matching original ttwo-tone cases ( bass is brown and beige and guitar is black and beige)are in remarkably preserved and identical condition. I acquired them as a set and I suspect they have always been together as a set given that the condition of the cases and the instruments are the same as each other. The finish is shiny and with very few small nicks, the frets are unworn, the necks are straight (and have truss rod adjusters), the bindings are perfect and matured to a very nice vintage cream color, the chrome is very good and the machines are tight and strong. The tolex covered board cases look new on the inside and out except for a small stain on the hinge side of the bass case-the handles, catches and hinges all work fine and the stitching is all intact. There simply are no significant issues with the instruments and the cases yet they are 45 years old!

Both instruments appear to be fully original, there are no repairs or parts replacements evident to me. They both play and the electronics work wll although teh tone control for the lower pickup on the 6-string doesn't seem to change the tone much if at all. Check out the “V” and “T” vintage volume controls and the three way switch on the 6-string for the pickup control (neck, bridge, and both) -very cool. Also pretty cool is the identical scaling of both instruments-you don’t see a 24” scale bass every day. Or with ruby red fretmarkers!

This matched set has been in my collection for about 10 years. Not surprisingly they have not been played much or gigged-never left my house. Circumstances require that I thin my collection down some so that is why they are for sale.

I'm selling this Vintage Sovtek MIG-50. People know it's similar to a Marshall and it's been in high demand lately. It sells on eBay for $400 plus shipping.

It does need some work and that's why it's going for $250. It needs a cap job and a couple resistors replaced. I played it for a few minutes and it does work and sounds great! I just don't have time to get to this project as I'm already building another amp.

It comes with a brand new duet of 6L6 power tubes and the three 12AX7 needed to make it shine.

If you're looking for a vintage amp with an incredibly clean and powerful sound, this is it.

National Glenwood 99 in Corvallis OR for $500 - SOLD!! (Alas, I didn't get it)

Update:  This guitar lwas only onthe market for a few hours - it was listed for sale by a charity Second Hand store in the Corvallis. OFR area - and I spoke to the seller and was 2nd in line but a local buyer showed up with $500 cash in hand and away it went.   Amazing, nice score for someone on this one - what a find.

I am not linking to the listing because I am trying to land this one myself but check out this Valco made Glenwood 99 Map Guitar - this one is the solid German Carve body not the more common Reso fiberglas model.  It even comes with the original case which is cool b/c these certainly are a weird shape to fit.

The guitar has a regular dot inlaid neck so it is either a rarity or the neck has been replaced.  Most Glenwoods have ornately split diamond block inlays on their bound necks. There is also some type of extra pickup with a pair of controls in the photo that looks like it may be a DeArmond "monkey's paw" archtop pickup.  I am trying to sort this out as well - hopefully the bridge piezo pickup is still operational.

I am trying to score this guitar right now for under $1K from a seller who knows it is rare and fairly expensive but who is just trying to move it for a reasonable price quickly.  It's a long shot but I am trying.
