This old guitar is a 1960's Teisco (Parkay, not the real butter) knock off electric guitar. I am told this guitar was made by Teisco aka Tokyo Electric Instrument and Sound Company. The guitars they produced were of the style of Fender and Gibson. These guitars were imported to the US and sold for much less than the real thing. This guitar needs alot of work. The tune knobs and switches have been removed. I has two pick-ups, and the tail-piece if complete, and the tune knobs are all in tack. The guitar body does appear to be of solid wood, not made of plywood like some were. It measures 16 inches wide at its widest point and is 12 inches wide at the double cutaway , and is 39 inches long and 1 1/2 inches wide. I am firm on my price of $60 bucks. ph 415 672 0821

1970's Memphis Mustang Electric Guitar (Fender Mustang Copy) - $200 (corvallis)

Wow.  I've seen alot of  Japanese Mustang copies over the years but never one this accurate - check it out!  This is an exact copy  down to the switches, knobs and headstock.  And the trussrod adjustment is at the heel too.  I wish I could see the Virato tailpiece in this pic to see how close they go it.    That is really incredible IMO.  It even has covered polepiece pickups.

Only thing is that Fender never made a "Redburst Mustang"  LOL!

1970 Fender Princeton (non-reverb) amp in Garland TX for $475

This is an original Owner Princeton and it includes the original info cards and catolog etc.  Very nice find for a 40 year old amplifier.  Yes, I know it is not a Princeton Reverb - but if it was it would be three times the price.

Note: You can fairly easily find an original replacement Oxford or jensen 10" speaker for this by searching for old Fender Super Reverb speakers from the same period.

Vintage Kalamazoo KG-2 in Charlottesville MD for $250

Very good price on this original Blue SG style KG-2  - although it does have one non-orig pickup. Kalamazoo was the budget student brand of Gibson starting way back in 1934. They shut it down during WWII and then restarted the brand in 1965 when the electric guitar boom hit. They shut it down again for good in 1970 (and as you may be aware, now they have the Gibson/Baldwin brand as super budget label).

The big difference between then and now is that the Kalamazoo brand in 1965 was made in the same Gibson factory - often by the same employees - as their higher end guitars. The main difference in these is the cheaper woods and hardware - though I believe most KG's and K-1's used regular Melody Maker pickups.

Vintage Collectible (1966-70) Gibson/Kalamazoo KG-2-A Guitar.

Unique SG style in (rare) Vegas Blue (original paint).

Stamped serial number, 004591, on the headstock, see image.

14 - High quality pics of actual guitar -

http://shoshin.110mb.com/kg2a/

slow site...wait for it... the images are worth waiting for.

Straight neck, very playable.

Dual pickups, one appears not original.

Clean tone, all tested and fully functioning.

Only issue is with pickup selector switch on neck pickup, scratchy, may need pot cleaner or something.

Also - has a broken high E string right now. .010, I don't have a spare.

Carefully stored and played in a non-smoking environment, never gigged.

I am the second owner and have had it since 1992.

I had the original case, but the fabric inside was a mess, so it did not make it, sorry.

Silvertone 1482 Tube amp in Detroit area for $300

If you are only going to have one non-Fender tube amp from the 1960's then many would agree that the Silvertone 1482 would be the one to have.  These are really outstanding tube amps and very useful for home or studio recording.   Circuit is similar enough to a Tweed Deluxe to give you plenty of real vintage growl.

Heit Deluxe (Teisco) 2 pickup electric in Richmond VA for $85

This Heit Deluxe looks like it was an attempt to copy the Mustang - but it sort of has its own vibe.  That appears to be a bound neck but I can't tell if there is a trussrod or not - the adjustment may be at the base of the neck.  The seller says it needs cleaning but doesn't really look that bad at all for a 45 year old guitar.

This is a vintage Mesa Boogie MarkIIB head. It is 60 watts with an effects loop. It has never seen any gigging (I have owned it since 1982) and is also in near mint condition! The black tolex is perfect. The front panel and knobs are without a blemish. The original foot switch and black vinyl cover are included. It sounds great with a single 12 cabinet but really drives and cranks with a 4 12 cab (if that's your thing).

1960's Fender Vibrolux Reverb in Sarasota FL area for $950

This looks like it could be a 1964 - 1967 Vibrolux Reverb.  Wow!  Incredible amp - really one of Leo Fender's masterpiece designs.  These are considered by some to be "The Greatest Club Amp."

This one is being sold for a lot less than what they usually sell for (I don't need to tell you what some people get for these).   And those Celestion GL10-35's are actually not a bad match for this amp - they probably make it a good bit louder than stock.

Nice vintage 1940's (earlier) Archtop acoustic guitar.

Needs some work, worth the price.

Vintage 1960's Ampeg Gemini I in Allentown PA area - best offer (sounds cheap)

I normally do not post BEST OFFER listings but it sounds like the sellers want this amplifier gone so this could be a very good deal - maybe even $200 or less.  Who knows, right?

Based on the wording of the ad I serously doubt they will want to ship this - least of all because Gemini's are BIG heavy amps with very solid heavy wood cabinets.  I had a guy ship me a Gemini 2 once from upstate NY to my home in Los Angeles and the shipping cost was $58 - and that was years ago.

BTW - these have nice reverb and vibrato circuits - and the fact it has the original footswitch is a big plus - they are hard to replace.  It is missing a few knobs but those "stovetop" knobs are easy to find since they make new ones.

Anyway nice amp and it may (or my not) be a great deal.  Let us know if you buy it!!

Kay 703 vintage tube combo in Santa Paula CA for $130

This would be a good complement to the Airline Lap Steel in San Antonio - neat little 4 or 5 watt tube amp with a "widomaker" (i.e. hot chassis) circuit not recommended for harp players since there is no isolation of the current and an old 2-prong ungrounded AC plug as well. These still sound good though. Circuit is basically the same as Harmony H303A.

Surf Alert!! 1984 Yamaha SC300T in Detroit area for $120

Nice deal on a vintage Yamaha guitar - I 've played one of these and they have a good look, feel and tone for Surf.  There is a higher end SGV model (SGV-500/700) that has better pickups and a bound neck but these are still nice Japanese made guitars.  The heavy duty 2 point Trem-Vibrato in particular is very good.

Yamaha reissued the SC-300T guitar a few years back and was selling them fairly cheap (made in China) but this looks like one of the original 1980's MIJ versions.

I am posting my 1962 Danelectro Convertible Guitar. I purchased this Guitar from Willies American Guitars in St. Paul, Minnesota about four years ago for the same price. I am looking to sell, but preferably trade this guitar for a Lap Steel guitar of equal value or a Lap Steel and low wattage tube amp of the same value. This guitar is in great condition for the years it's been around and the years I've spent playing it. Here are the details:

Danelectro Convertible Model 5015 Model Thinline Hollow Body Electric Guitar (1962), made in Neptune, NJ, formica finish, masonite and pine body, poplar bolt-on neck with Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, aluminum nut, frets, and strap buttons, one-piece stamped button metal tuners (known as "skate keys") and of course the Danelectro lipstick tube pickup: Alnico bar magnets & copper wire wrapped in brown tape and mounted in surplus, chrome plated, lipstick tubes. Measured 4.75k ohms.

I'll post better pictures once I find my camera

Kapa Continental in Baltimore MD for $325

This Kapa never went very far from home - I think they were built in back of a music shop in Baltimore MD circa 1965.  These are made with Hofner parts including the pickups but the bodies were made in the USA.  They have notoriously thin finishes - it is almost impossible to find a Kapa without alot of chipping - unless it's been refinished. But this one looks pretty nice.  Kapa's are also very hit or miss - there was little to no quality control - so you have to play it to see if you like it.  That said, most of the ones that have survived this long are decent players.

Beautiful RARE 1967 Fender Coronado Special in MInn MN for $899 obo

This is just a stunning and beautiful vintage guitar and it is a RARE one. You see quite a few of the two pickup Coronado's going for about $2K on eBay but here is an unusual and lovely one and it is only $899.

I've seen another one pickup Coronado "Special" that was also listed as being a 1967 NAMM guitar.  It was not as prety as this one.  This Coronado looks all original and these are very desirable guitars.   Note: the bridge looks weird because you can rotate those "feet" and give it a normal elongated look as well.

Selling one of my prized possessioins; a 1967 Fender Coronado I. The guitar is in immaculate condition for being 43 years old! Made in USA. Has "Special" stamped on the back of the headstock and inside the body (visible throught the F hole), indicating that this was displayed and purchased at the 1967 NAMM show. This is a gorgeous looking and sounding guitar. Has a single and original Fender pickup in the neck position that sounds nice and warm. You can play this either plugged in or unplugged as an acoustic. It is loud and resonant. The guitar is all original. Comes with brand new high quality aftermarket hardshell case.

This is a high quality vintage USA made Fender in absolutely gorgeous condition, that will only appreciate in value over time.

Asking $899/OBO for this jem! Somebody is going to be really happy with this guitar!

This is a vintage Airline made by National, looks to have been made in the early to mid sixties. The guitar is in good condition for the age, the neck is straight and the body is in good shape with some scuffing and a small bit of glue separation on a short piece of the binding. This guitar has the coolest tone, seriously - you will be surprised by the volume. It has all of the original parts. It is a cool guitar for someone, as a piece of 'National' history if nothing else.

Vox Stroller early 60's Vintage Electric in Oakland CA for $250

I love when I duiscover a new guitar and since I don't know much about the English VOX's this one is new to me - a Vox Stroller - their bottom of the line from1961.   I have no idea about the tone or playablity - but certainly is a cool and Rare find here in the US.   One thing I know about Vox's is that the English made versions are more desireable than the later Italian's (though, I think they are still cool).

The Stroller was one of Vox's very first guitars, debuting in 1961. It has One pickup at the bridge, one volume and tone control. A simple sycamore neck (made by the Stuart Darkins furniture company of Shoeburyness) without truss rod, and basic tuning gears.

This is how the instrument was described in the 1964 Vox catalogue.

Fine quality rhythm solid electric guitar. High grade VOX strings and single pick-up. Separate tone and volume controls. Single side machine heads. reinforced, polished neckwith hardwood fingerboard. Adjustable rosewood bridge. Finished in red or white high gloss polyester.

The guitar I am selling is in good condition and plays/sounds great. It has a high quality Gibson bridge installed but also comes with the original. If interested call: (310) 729 3008.

Okay, now we all know why these are called the "Midnight Special" right?  Come on... children of the 70's.... yes because when KISS appeared on the Midnight Special in 1976 Paul Stanley played a prototype of these Bill Lawrence designed guitars.  Now here's the catch - the L-6 is the one you want - not the L-6S... this one has the nice setneck and better pickups.  Always check - is it an L6 or and L6-S?

This one also includes the original case.  These guitars are going on 35 years old now so don't think they won't go up in value.   They sure ain't making any more of em.

Neat vintage Gibson made 1975 -1980. Plays and sounds good. Some fret wear. Original case

Les Paul Special w P90's and Case in VA Beach for $550

Okay, I have to admit I have been on a Gibson kick lately.  I've been tracking Specials and SG's all over the place and I actually bought two Les Pauls in the last two weeks.   I guess because the prices are coming down due to the crappy economy. Anyway, here is one of these "glossy Cherry" Les Paul Specials with the P90's - it is $550 which may not sound cheap but I see them for $700 + all the time and this one includes a nice hardcase.   I am contemplating this one myself but I am really on the hunt for a 1974 Gibson '55 reissue Special which is really da bomb.  Sorry but no pic on the listing.

Oh and if that is a "real" vintage aluminumn tailpiece - Wow!   I mean some unfinished 1959 Les Paul Jr. owner is gonna hunt you down and jump you in an alley for it.

I know what you are thinking: What happened to Jim??? I thought he was mister $200 vintage guitar..? - well I am still trying to cap my guitar purchases at $1K but so many people ae clearing out their "retirement collections" right now that I am thinking it may be a good time to supplement my wood and metal 401K.

Very few people ever bought a Gibson guitar for $500 and lived to regret it.  (Note: That said, I still hate the sound of a PAF humbucking pickup - blech, so bland - give me single coils, Dirty Fingers or P90's anyday.)

Fender Newporter Acoustic in Jacksonville, FL for $275

These Newporter's were part of the last series of USA made Fender Acoustic guitars in the late 1960's.  Fender is not well known for its acoustics but these are kinda cool and a little bit rare too.  The Newporter is a big OOO style Mahogany bodied acoustic with a bolt on metal neck plate (?).  The neck on these is just like an electric neck, sort of like a Duosonic or Mustang style.  They have the 6 on a side tuners.  Note that there was a later Korean series that included a Newporter (and LaBrea) as well but they were very different acoustics other than the 6-on-a-side tuners. These were originally USA made guitars.  I believe they were made somewhere in Southern California perhaps even at the old Fender acoustic plant in Anaheim.

2000 Fender USA Hardtail Strat in NYC for $590

I am a big fan of these Hardtails because I am always throwing traditional Strats way out of tune (I down and upstroke at too hard an angle).  This is similar to the Robert Cray model - except this one has a Duncan JB in the bridge for even more gain in the lead solo position.
