Vintage Gibson L-6 in Des Moines for $500

Okay, now we all know why these are called the "Midnight Special" right?  Come on... children of the 70's.... yes because when KISS appeared on the Midnight Special in 1976 Paul Stanley played a prototype of these Bill Lawrence designed guitars.  Now here's the catch - the L-6 is the one you want - not the L-6S... this one has the nice setneck and better pickups.  Always check - is it an L6 or and L6-S?

This one also includes the original case.  These guitars are going on 35 years old now so don't think they won't go up in value.   They sure ain't making any more of em.

Neat vintage Gibson made 1975 -1980. Plays and sounds good. Some fret wear. Original case

  1. Your Gibson is a Mid Night Special. Gibson made about 2000 of them but never offered them in a price list or catalog. The L6 had a six position switch and usually had a black head piece. The Mid Night Special has a three position switch. If the Gibson decal is black on natural wood you have a Mid Night Special. I've got one also. Just dug into the history of the guitar
