Silvertone 1457 at Swap Meet in Peoria IL for $180

This is a pretty decent looking Silvertone 1457 for the price.  Hopefully the pickups both work - that switch is definitely shot - that's how they break, the throw arm seperates from the switch - I had the same problem on mine and found a cheap Chinese Replacement at Radio Shack that works just fine.  Note that those are ON-OFF-ON SPDT swtiches - so the standard Gibson type pickup switches do not work.

  1. Hope it needs only minor repairs, Interesting Metallic finish, which i liked the most.

  2. That metal specked finish is the standard finish on these old Silvertones - it is made u0p of real metal flakes mixed with the finish - and in the more heavily used models the metal flakes will be worn away in the heavily played areas.
