Univox 1235 Tube Bass or Guitar Head in Detroit for $200
Heck of alot of tube amp for $200. This Univox is designed for Bass butthen so is a 4x10 Fender Bassman. Would sound nice for BAss and I am sure if you swapped the
12AU7 tubes in the preamp for 12AX7 you'd crunch up the gain a whole lot for guitar.
This pst was af ew weeksback so it may begone already - but there is a phone number.

5 tubes (2 6L6, 2 12AU7, 12AX7) and solid state power supply, 50W, 3 inputs (bass, high, low) w/ deep and sharp selector switches. Controls: volume, bass, treble. Apparently there was a guitar version made too, the only known difference was that it had reverb and tremolo. This is technically the bass version but it has seperate inputs for guitar or bass and both sound good through the amp. I bought this last year from Music Go Round in Troy. It came with a receipt for a lot of repairs that were done in may of 08 which i still have. I was running it through a 2x12 marshall cab (it calls for an 8ohm load) and the 6l6 power tubes give it a nice fenderish clean tone that takes well to stomp boxes. a vintage tube amp at an affordable price. May consider trades for low wattage tube combo's.

IMPORTANT NOTE TO ALL READERS
I am reposting items here that are listed on CRAIGSLIST throughout the USA. I am not selling any of these items and I cannot facilitate the sale of anything here - so please do not comment or post questions like "Is this still available?" or "I am interested in your guitar please call me, etc." You need to contact the seller directly by calling the phone number listed on the post or by going to the CL listing and emailing them. NEW FEATURE: Click on the title of the CL Listing inside my post to LINK thru to the original Post. If the original CL listing is deleted the item most likely is no longer available. Thanks for checking out my blog and GOOD LUCK!
Please don't call, contact, bother or harass these sellers long after their post is expired. Take for granted if the listing is over 30 days old that the guitar or amp is LONG GONE! Thank you.

This is my amp. I was wondering why i still got a call after i took the ad down. I tried swapping the 12au7's out for 12ax7's and it made alot of noise when i did it. i ended up leaving one in and swapping a 12at7 in the middle and i gained up a tiny bit. still have to crank it really high with th 2x12 but i started using a 2X8 and i can get a little break up at lower volumes. Fun amp! don't really want to sell it anymore as i sold off my marshall combo and am using this exclusively now.
ReplyDeleteI have one of these and there is a great trick with them. If you play with the sharp switch and get it positioned just right in the middle, you get a boost of gain that's very nice.
