Fender 1983 Dan SMith USA Strat at GC in NC for $749


Here is a nice "Dan Smith" USA Strat made at the newCorona plant before the big fire shut them down in 1985. These are identified by the single VOL and TONE and the ouput jack on the pickguard. Fender's long-standing American employees were hand building nice gutars with a skeleton crew at this point and these "interim" guitars are testament to how much they still cared.

    Wouldn't this be a 2nd generation "Dan Smith era" vs. a "Dan Smith"

    Yes, it would be a 2nd generation Dan Smith. the original Dan Smith designs were 1981 and 1982 and they were the first Strats to return to some of the earlier vintage specifications after the larger, heavier, big-headstpock 3-bolt Strats of the 1970's.
